MUSICAL TAKEOVER OF THE LAS VEGAS NATURAL HISTORY MUSEUM

LAS VEGAS, NV — On Saturday, April 9, 2022, Notes with a Purpose took over the Las Vegas Natural History Museum with an immersive, musical experience around Carnival of the Animals by Camille Saint-Saëns called The Carnival Cavalcade of Canorous Creatures! Kids scoured the museum for musicians on a scavenger and treasure hunt, and enjoyed student acrobats, food trucks, raffles, and the complete performance of Carnival of the Animals in the nearby park.

Leading the roster of diverse Las Vegas musicians was acclaimed pianist, Dr. Alexandria Le (Yamaha Artist, former Carnegie Hall fellow) and violinist De Ann Letourneau (concertmaster of the Las Vegas Philharmonic). They played alongside top students and alums from the Las Vegas Academy of the Arts and music specialists from CCSD.

Laurie Thomas, Co-Executive Director of the Las Vegas Natural History Museum, stated, “This partnership is unlike anything we’ve done before. Dr. Alexandria Le had an amazing vision for the event. We are honored that she, Social CirKISH, Nate Tannenbaum, and many others brought their talents to Las Vegas’ hometown natural history museum for such a fun, educational day!”
