About Us

Our Mission

Notes with a Purpose harnesses the transformative and healing power of music to strengthen connection, wellbeing, and belonging across our community. We design and steward programs that bring professional teaching artists into partnership with caregivers, community organizations, and allied institutions to create meaningful musical experiences for individuals and families navigating vulnerable, transitional, or high-stress circumstances. Our work begins with Lullaby Project – Southern Nevada, which supports caregivers, babies, and families through collaborative songwriting, reflection, and song-sharing that nurtures both parent and child.

Our Vision

We envision a Southern Nevada in which music is recognized not as a luxury, but as an essential human resource for healing, connection, and hope. We believe every family deserves the chance to be seen, heard, and supported through experiences that affirm dignity, deepen belonging, and strengthen the bonds that shape early life. By building partnerships across the arts, healthcare, social services, and education, we seek to create a community where music helps families thrive, where caregivers are empowered in their own voices, and where children begin life surrounded by love, expression, and possibility.

Our Flagship Program: The Lullaby Project

In partnership with Carnegie Hall’s Weill Music Institute, Notes with a Purpose brings the Lullaby Project to Las Vegas. This program pairs new and expectant in vulnerable situations with professional musicians to write and record personal lullabies for their babies. These lullabies become cherished keepsakes, strengthening the bond between parent and child while fostering hope, healing, and self-expression.

Our Track Record

Since 2016, Notes with a Purpose has reached over 12,500 children and 4,000 disenfranchised adults through innovative music programming, including:

  • Music: Mission Live – Live concerts in homeless shelters, creating moments of connection, dignity, and joy for residents.

  • Music JuiceBox Series – Interactive performances in elementary schools introducing young students to diverse instruments and genres.

  • Carnival of the Animals at the Las Vegas Natural History Museum – A family-friendly concert blending live music and storytelling in a museum setting.

Join Us

We invite community members, musicians, and supporters to help us build a future where music connects, heals, and transforms lives in Las Vegas and beyond.
