Steve Flora is a Las Vegas–based musician, composer, and educator whose work is rooted in a lifelong devotion to jazz, especially the American jazz tradition. He serves on the bass faculty in the Jazz & Commercial Music Division at the University of Nevada, Las Vegas and also teaches at The Nevada School of the Arts. A graduate of the Cincinnati College-Conservatory of Music, he also studied at Berklee College of Music and trained privately with legendary bassists Ray Brown, Milt Hinton, and François Rabbath. Over the course of his career, he has performed or recorded with a wide range of acclaimed artists, including Andrea Bocelli, Wynton Marsalis, Gloria Estefan, Joe Henderson, and Peter Erskine.

As Lead Teaching Artist for Lullaby Project – Southern Nevada, Steve leads the teaching artist team with passion, care, and exceptional leadership, bringing deep musical experience, generosity of spirit, and a strong commitment to families and collaborative artistry.
